Does my plant need more water? Fertilizer?

I got this water propagated monstera a few weeks ago and potted it, and added a pole. I kept it moist for a bit since it was water propagated. Photo 1 was a few days after I got it. Photo 2 is today, and photo 3 you can see some dried yellowing bits and an aerial root that sprang up. It looks like it’s wilting, the leaves seem more floppy, and one of the fronds is definitely falling over even though I used twine to attach it to the pole.

Thank you!

Maybe more water less fertilizer. Hard to say. Looks like you have a great soil though. Is there another root growing into the pole? Or are the only roots in the soil and the aerial root growing to the right?
If there aren’t any roots growing into the pole and the aerial shown is the only one, it may be best to put the pole on that side of the plant. But if there IS a root going into the pole then I wouldn’t worry about that aerial root not being in the pole.
If the pole was on the other side where the aerial root is growing out then you could turn the plant around and more leaves would be facing the window.
In my experience, leaves also may curling if low humidity.

Also be SURE to add the soil type, pot size, pot material etc to Planta so it can make the most accurate watering recommendations, it looks like some of that may be missing for this guy. A terracotta pot and a good chunky mix will tend to dry out quicker, but Planta needs those details to give the best advice!

Others may have different opinions. Hope that helps.

Thanks so much KD! I haven’t used fertilizer on the monstera, but I can always buy some and use it once a month. There are no other aerial roots, this is the only one! Is it ok to repot it then with the pole on the other side? The roots are all in there so I think I’d have to take everything out and repot to avoid piercing the roots with the pole. I’ll also spray with water and turn my humidifier back on! Very helpful thank you :)

Yea, if that’s the only root above the soil, the pole would be better positioned on that side of the plant. Repotting in the same pot won’t be a problem, but when you put the pole on the side with the root then the whole plant can turn around with the pole in the back now and more leaves will be facing the window (or at least it looks like the light source is coming from the right side in the last two pics).
Good luck!

Monsteras have a front and back, when you repot, put the aerial root to the side of the stake or pole bevause that will always be the back side. It should be acclimated to your environment without the need to mist or have a humidifier running. It's possible it's adjusting from Hydro to soil.

I just moved the pole today, so hoping it will grab on at some point! Thanks 😊
