Hi, This beauty was given to me!! I know 😳…Nice gift! Poor thing was a bit of a tangled mess and I repotted her with a coconut coir stake, however the stake/pole is actually three pieces that are sold to fit together. The three pieces never fit well and it’s collapsing under the weight of her growth. My challenge is that I’m not in love with the common stake options, like the moss filled plastic grid poles.

I’m wondering if anyone has utilized something a little different or unique that might be a bit more sturdy, decorative, or much less noticeable?

In addition, because she was allowed to grow wildly, her branches were already firm and in downward or right angles. I did some initial trimming, but I’m wondering if I’d be better off trimming her way back when I replace the pole so that I can better train her new branches to incircle the new support. She’s slowly pulling this (lame) segmented coir pole over.

All ideas welcome. Thank you 🪴

You’ve done a fantastic job with it!

Could a narrow trellis help? It would give more coverage than a pole so more stems could be supported. I’m sure houseplant websites will have indoor plant trellises.

Thank you Kirsty. I have looked and plan to keep looking. So far the ones that will fit well into the bottom of the pot for best stability are so wide that I don’t know if I can make it work without a severe trimming. Others are either too wide at the bottom for this pot or don’t look sturdy enough.

I appreciate your thoughts 🪴

She looks great! I opted for two thick wooden dowels from Lowe’s and just use a lot of the green plant velcro tape to keep the stems trained. I like them bc they’re kinda hidden on the inside.

I saw a video where they used a small tree branch. I’m going to try it eventually😉
