_Opslået af Persi\_Person den 2023-09-21_

Just noticed these teeny tiny white bug things crawling around in the soil of my mini monsters. Those tiny white specks on the plant and just at the base in the soil are them. Is that bad? The plant seems healthy but if they’re a problem, I don’t wanna let them stick around. What should I do?

They could either be thrips or spider mites. i’d immediately start treatment. get a good quality treatment (like a neem oil of some sort) and spray the plant down. there are lots of people much smarter than me when it comes to this but i’d recommend watching some youtube videos. even if they aren’t a pest i’d still act as if it is just to be safe. right now the plant might seem just fine but pests can do a lot of damage in just a few days so the key is it catch it early.

i can’t see them the best in the picture but my guess is thrips. i’d check the rest of your plants right away and make sure to keep the infected ones away from the other ones

I believe they are springtails, i think i can see one on the stem! Springtails are not a plant pest and are beneficial to the soil of the plant, eating moulds and such. If it’s causing an issue you could treat but to be honest, i let mine eat!

You know what, I was just thinking they looked too pale to be thrips. I haven’t noticed any damage to the plant either and if I remember correctly, I saw them a while back as well and the plant is actually doing very well. I will give it a day or two, but I think you may be right. I don’t want to kill the little guys if they aren’t a bother
