I started noticing some of these black spots on the back and stems of my monstera’s leaves. Anyone have an idea what this is? I thought it could possibly be scales, but not entirely sure.

Not sure but I don’t think it’s scales. I’ve only seen them perfectly round

Did a quick google and found this which might help:

Black spots can be caused by low humidity

less than 40%) consider getting a humidifier. It's the only way to provide constant humidity to your plants. If you have medium humidity try these tricks to increase your humidity without a humidifier. To be honest, Monstera will happily live in 40% humidity.

I’ve been debating getting a humidifier for a while now and this is my sign to get one. Thanks!
