# Repotted this little guy back in August and a new leaf with…

_Posted by giraffegrower17 on 2023-09-10_

Repotted this little guy back in August and a new leaf with fenestrations has finally sprouted and unfurled! My question is, how long should I wait to repot again? And when I do repot, how far up in size should the pot be? When I repotted this first time around, I moved it from the nursery pot into one about 1-2 centimeters bigger in diameter. Not sure if a bigger pot would allow for more growth at this stage, since I did buy it as a “baby”.

I’d wait till the roots need more room, if they start poking out the bottom or top. And 1 -2 inch bigger pot 😍

General rule of thumb is once a year, but if the roots are bursting out you can repot sooner. I totally recommend clear nursery pots so you can see the root growth. You want the pot to be about 1-2 inches bigger than the root ball, but you don’t want too much room because it can lead to root rot.
