# I repotted my monstera into a bigger pot at the end of last summer,…

_Geplaatst door TM op 2023-07-28_

I repotted my monstera into a bigger pot at the end of last summer, then due to my flat getting really cold during winter I think, a lot of my plants got fungus gnats so I repotted it again the other week with a much more drainable soil mix with perlite and orchid mix as well as my normal soil.

But now I have been rethinking if I should’ve repotted it into a smaller pot as several of the roots had died, but when dealing with this plant last year this pot had been the best size for it. I don’t want to repot it again into a smaller pot if it’s not necessary but I’m not sure if it would be healthier to do it - just very late to repot now! Let me know if you have any advice!

While the pot does look a little big, it probably doesn’t need to be repotted. In my experience, monstera like space to spread out in their pot

The only change I would do would be to put the moss pole you have in that pot on the back of the monster instead of the front. That way it can climb up it itself.

My mum had this one for about 2 years and would water it like once every 6 months in a very hot room - still managed to survive some how haha, it’s grown a lot in the past year since I took it though! Think this one was just a very healthy plant at the start idk
