I have a monstera, and I have three things. First, it’s always drooping, but I water it frequently, so what should I do? Second, I put its aerial root in water because I saw that somewhere, and it is growing little bumps. Are these normal? Third, it hasn’t gotten any new growths for about a year now. Thank you!

I water mine with filtered water. Like from the fridge. (Not cold) or distilled. I mixed fertilizer in the soil. Just to give it extra food when the soil food runs out.
That looks like a self watering pot. Do you drain the pan after watering?
Might have root rot if soil is to moist.

The little white bumps are actually secondary roots, totally normal and healthy. You probably want to tuck that whole root into the soil shortly :)

What does “watering frequently” mean? Like when the top 2-4” is dry? Or are you watering even if the soil is still moist? Or just whenever the app tells you to regardless of what the soil is doing? It could be drooping due to being overwatered.

The pot size may be too big for it. You want something that is 2-4” larger than the root ball (regarding of how large the plant is). Monstera’s are happy when they are slightly root bound.

Also as the above poster said, are you fertilizing as needed?

Thank you! I usually water it about when Planta tells me too or whenever the soil seems too dry. I do fertilize, but not too frequently, so I might start doing that more. Thank you!

I would get a water gauge. The info in Planta is just a suggested schedule. ALWAYS check the soil and if it’s still wet, just snooze the action. Then te-check when it’s time.

Planta doesn’t know the exact environment our plants are living in. In my experience Monsteras don’t mind drying out.
