# How often does everyone water there plant? I’ve had about a month and…

How often does everyone water there plant? I’ve had about a month and I’ve watered maybe twice? I do spray the leaves once a week and wipe the leaves every two weeks. The soil is still pretty wet so I haven’t watered it. Is that right? Just wait for the soil ti get dry? A new leaf has started to form!!

Thats right! Each plant is so different it really is helpful to learn your plant and when it needs things.  
For monstera’s you can usually wait till the top 2-3” drys out. But they can also tolerate a bit of drying up (not like a succulent tho!).

I always use a wooden chopstick on watering day to see exactly how dry the soil is. Wet soil will stick to it so you can easily see how much soil is still holding moisture. If my tropical is dry halfway down or more I’ll water (with a few high maintenance plant exceptions).

my monstera gets watered every 4-6 weeks, it’s in an 8” ceramic pot.

In the summer every 1-2 weeks because it’s in the window. In the winter every 2-3 weeks. I have a turtle and use turtle tank water every 1st sat of the month. Every 3-4 months I put it in the shower and let the water run through it.
