How do you know when to repot your monstera?

It’s good to repot monsteras at least every two years. But you can also check it see if it’s root bound. Roots coming out of the drainage hole/roots lining the whole pot

i wait til the growth slows noticeably, they don’t mind being root bound.

Thanks everyone, I have a juvenile and I feel like the stem is sticking too far out of the soil but maybe it’s supposed to be like that?
