# My monstera is currently putting out new leaves but they are much…

My monstera is currently putting out new leaves but they are much smaller than the largest leaf (the right one) and I’m wondering what is happening? Is there a reason she’s pushing out smaller leaves? There’s three other leaves emerging and I can’t really tell if they will be any bigger than the one in the photo (the left) or slightly bigger.

Any help is appreciated! I’ve been a plant parent for a little over a year and I’m still learning!

Just an idea but try adding some extra drainage to your soil mix as well, like chunky wood bark and perlite. I did this with my recent monsters and instantly she put out a much bigger, more holey and happy leaf! 😋
