# Just got a baby monstera deliciosa today… any tips for how to repot?…

Just got a baby monstera deliciosa today… any tips for how to repot? I bought a pot just slightly larger than what the plant originally came in. I was told it is better to have a pot that fits snugger than a pot with too wide of a diameter. Should I give the plant a few more days to acclimate or repot ASAP?

Definitely let it acclimate for a little longer :) It really depends on the root system but that pot size looks good! Does it have drainage?

It does! Has a great drainage hole at the bottom.

No need to rush it. I would even consider leaving it in the plastic growth pot until next spring unless the roots are too snug/bursting out of it.

Definitely let it acclimate for a while (1-2 weeks) but monstera tend to grow pretty fast so I wouldn’t wait more than 2 months bc it’ll likely be incredibly root bound
