I’ve somehow managed to keep this plant alive for a little over a year. Not sure what I’m doing right and not sure what I’m doing wrong. Any pointers? Also does anyone know what this brown stuff is? I’ve got a smaller pot and soil with better drainage and will be repotting tomorrow because it isn’t drying up fast enough and staying moist for way too long, but any other tips?

She’s likely adapted to how you handle her so I’d leave it exactly as you’re doing now.

As for the little brown spots, mines have the same and I’ve never figured it out or found anything while investigating

Are you asking about the brown stuff near the leaf on the first pic?

yes

That’s normal. It’s basically scarring and it’s how the monstera holds the leaf up. It’s called corking.
