This plant was recently gifted to me. There are two large dried up stems/branches and looking for advice if I should cut them off? If so, how do I do that?

That looks like a philodendron not a monstera… My Split leaf Thaumatophyllum has never grown branches but it doesn’t mind vigorous trimming when my kids tip it over.
