_Posted by Kendyl on 2025-07-31_

Still new to plants, but staying at a hotel and they had beautiful monsteras (I think lol) and I asked for cuttings and they gave me these!!!! What now?! I wanna give these babies new life (after a short flight home). I’ve seen for propagating use water however these feel maybe past that point? Any tips will be appreciated :)

If it were me I’d chop it in between the nodes\*as marked\* \& throw the four pieces in a vessel with water. I would discard of the very bottom stem or you could put it in a covered container with some damp moss \*known as the wet stick method\*

\& just make sure to place it a well lit area

Ditto what Lilo said and add Root Zone to the water to increase root production

Amazing thank you so much!!! I’ve seen on some forums to trim the aerial roots down for propagating. Would you recommend this as well? :)

Thank you!!!

If the roots are making it hard to fit into a vessel then yes you can trim them but you don’t have to, although if you decide to they will grow back :)
