# Hey guys! I miraculously found this Thai constellation Monstera at my…

Hey guys! I miraculously found this Thai constellation Monstera at my local grocery store but she’s not looking too good. Dr. planta tells me that it’s overwatering but it also says that there’s over 50% chance that it could be under watering by the grocery store. Would you guys be willing to help me figure out how to save this plant? Should I cut off the dead leaf?

Big box stores do struggle to water the plants correctly. I recommend taking it out and rinsing the root ball to determine if it’s root rot or dry rot. Root rot will be brown mushy roots and dry rot will be dry crumbly roots. Give a diluted oeroxide water mix to kill any rot bacteria then report with new soil give her a good drink and get her on a good schedule with 60% or higher humidity maybe even some fertilizer and hopefully she’ll spring to life.

Thank you so much! I just ordered some perlite to mix with my soil and I will re-pot it tomorrow and check the roots ♥️

I also ordered a humidifier! It’s been on my list of things to do for a while as I have other tropical plants in my Michigan bedroom LOLLL

Josie is a wealth of great info here! I would also go ahead and cut the yellow leaf and the other sad one - those leaves won’t bounce back, they’re dead weight

Just to give you a little update. I was planning on re-potting it today to see if it was root rot but I watered it and left it under a growlight for the night and it’s already perked up so much so I have a feeling it was just dry root :-)
