# Hi!! I just got this Thai constellation a week ago but I’m so nervous…

_Gepostet von Alexis am 2024-02-08_

Hi!! I just got this Thai constellation a week ago but I’m so nervous that I’m killing her - she’s in her nursery pot but some of her roots look black? And there’s brown spots forming on the leaves and new growth - is this normal or am I killing her? I keep her in a greenhouse that’s about 77° F and 80-85% humidity she also has a grow light directly over her. Thank y’all so much!

that black root does look concerning, it’s almost definitely rotting. repot, trim the roots, and make sure to use an airy mix. (mine is a 1:1:1 ratio of soil, bark, and grit like perlite and pumice) i think it would be a good idea to turn the humidity down a little. 70% is perfect for most tropicals, and the higher humidity could contribute to rot, especially without considerable airflow.
