# Hi! I was gifted this Monstera but not sure what to do as im pretty…

Hi! I was gifted this Monstera but not sure what to do as im pretty new to this whole plant thing. I want it to grow more leaves instead of being leggy.. also is it normal for there to be so many aerial roots?  
What would you do?!

I would suggest cutting the stem to the first leaf - leave a bit of the stem to burry in the soil (watch a video on how to do it properly). fertilise and water \& she’ll bloom in no time! ☺️

make sure to reuse the stick it’s currently attached to as that helps it climb

my issue now is trying to find a jar or container big enough to fill with water until she grows some roots!

aerial roots are completely normal! i think with that many it used to be finding areas to climb on or trying to capture excess humidity in the air.
