# Decided to combine my marbled and pepperface peperomia obtusifolias…

_Adrian님이 2025-03-05에 게시함_

Decided to combine my marbled and pepperface peperomia obtusifolias together a few weeks ago. Now one side is Sunny (marbled), with lots of yellow to her leaves, and the other side is Cher (pepperface), with much more green to her but some fun yellow and white speckling on her leaves. I love how each leaf has its own unique pattern. Just wanted to inspire anyone considering to combine their peperomias into a mega-peperomia to DO IT! 😆

Thank you! 😊 can’t take too much credit for these two. I got them from a local nursery and they were in great condition when I bought them back in July and August. Their variegated varieties are a little criminally underrated in my opinion, especially since other variegated plants are a lot more finicky.

😍 I’m obsessed with variegated peperomias! I definitely agree that they’re underrated

Ooooooh!!! 😍😍😍 beautiful!!! I’ve been toying with doing this with my 3 ZZ plants (regular, raven, \& chameleon)

Ooh that sounds like a really cool combination! If you do end up doing so, my trick was to hold out on watering them until they both needed watering, so that when I watered them after repotting them, they weren’t on different watering schedules so I could start them both on one watering schedule. I think it definitely helped with stopping any shock from happening in the repot, especially since I did it in February. Especially with a ZZ, you don’t wanna risk one of them getting extra water from the other if they don’t need it yet. I’d love to see that if you end up combining them, so please post how it turns out if you do!

Oooh good tip!!! I’ll have to keep that in mind if I do it. They do all need a repot this spring so I might try to tease them apart a bit. My only concern is the regular is in an 8” pot, so most of the stems are longer than the raven and chameleon. Those two are only in a 5” pot each so I might be able to find a few stems that are equal-ish in length.

I bet it’d look really cute if you placed them all in a corner or window together too, if you don’t end up repotting them together (I know those thick ZZ roots and rhizomes can make it a little tough to fit more than one ZZ in a pot) 😊 I may or may not do that with my herd of peperomias and jades 👀 (and may or may not have one dining room where all the windowsills are lined with peperomias in the summer)

Hmm 🤔 maybe you could make it a mix, like instead of 3 separate sections of ZZ (that’s if you can even manage to separate the shorter ZZ stems without losing some roots), maybe you could line the perimeter of the pot with the shorter stems and fill the center of it with the longer stems so it looks more even?? Either that or you just combine the two 5” ZZs.

That’s a good idea too. I also like putting the pots together in one corner area too. I’m def gonna have to repot cuz I see roots coming out the bottom and the raven is pretty root bound. I’d do them all now but the regular and chameleon are pushing up so many new stems rn I don’t want to disturb them so sadly that means Mr Raven has to wait too. But I guess if I’m not able to tease them apart to create a 4th pot (bc who wants to go DOWN in plant numbers!!! 😜😜😜) then putting them all together would be a good idea.
