# My 2nd Peony finally opened up. Looks like we just get two so far…

My 2nd Peony finally opened up. Looks like we just get two so far this year. Does anyone know how long til they have multiple blooms? I mean I’ve read that they don’t bloom the first year or two. So I was happy with 2 for year 2.

Sleep, creep, leap. That's the perennial motto. The first year they spend most of their energy developing roots and minimal flowers. The second year they'll have a few more flowers and continue root development. The third year they leap into full bloom. It will continue to get larger and have more blooms starting in the third year.
