# Just got this gorgeous ficus shivereana on Facebook marketplace a few…

_Posted by Kenny on 2025-09-24_

Just got this gorgeous ficus shivereana on Facebook marketplace a few days ago. I had to add some soil to the top to make her stand upright. If anyone has any tips or suggestions I would love them!! This is my first rubber plant, I do have a fiddle leaf that’s thriving. The shivereana is underneath an east facing window, the fiddle leaf is under an east facing window but with cross light from south facing.

I have 4 and I find them a super easy plant, no drama lol just water when full dry and good light and they are happy ☺️

What kind of light do you have yours in? The gal I got it from kept saying make sure it gets SOME bright light but I’m wondering if morning light in an east facing window is enough?

So mine get a few hours of direct light and the rest of the time is indirect and/or grow lights. No idea about directions, I’m in an apartment so they get my only big window lol

Rubber plants are pretty easy although they do drop leaves leaves very easily. Just make sure to water constantly (I would water now because the leaves look a little droopy)
