I’ve had this Zz plant for over two years and I never knew when I should repot it! I finally got it out of the plastic pot and this is what I saw! Any advice on what to do now, should I break up the roots or leave it together? I currently have it in a much bigger pot with fresh soil.

Dang those are some thiccc roots! I wouldn’t risk damaging too much, maybe lightly massage / loosen them a touch but I’ve heard more recently that the plant will be fine potting slightly rootbound - if it’s not totally tangled around itself which this does not look like it is.

That one really busy section seems to be growing all parallel and not suffocating itself so I wouldn’t risk snapping any of those personally.

Also don’t go too big on the pot!! Zzs like to be more on the root-bound side. I’ve had mine in the same pot for 3 years 🥰🙂‍↔️

how do you get yours to stand up so straight! mine is droopy

Was it droopy before you repotted it or did it just get droopy?

It could have been really ready for a repot, the soil they put them in isn’t usually the best. Give it some time since the repot and don’t stress too much about it :)
