# I’m enamored with this Elephant Bush (Portulacaria Afra ‘Variegata’)!…

I’m enamored with this Elephant Bush (Portulacaria Afra ‘Variegata’)! I got it in October when the stems were easy to see. It’s in an 8 inch pot. It added lots of leaves that are almost hiding all stems!

I placed it in a west facing location getting mid afternoon direct sun and heavy shade in the morning. I give it water if I can lift it with one hand. It’s heavy when it has enough water.

I’m not good with succulents. Credit goes to this plant.

I'm jealous. The photos are what mine looks like too but in reverse order unfortunately. 😅 It was so full this Spring \& since bringing it in for Winter, she's dropped soooo many leaves.

I’m dreading bringing mine inside. It’s so happy in this spot. It got lots of rain water and good sunlight. I expect some loss this winter. 🥶

I'm nervous to bring mine in too. The temps have been in the low 40° and I still haven't done it. 😫

Oh my goodness! Yours is beautiful! I love elephant bush! Does anyone know if a variegated one like this and a normal one would have the same watering schedule? I'm somewhat new to plants and I wanna put a bunch of elephant bushes in a window box!
