Hi guys :)!! I want to get a plant for my boyfriend. He’s never had a plant before and has never had pets, so I want something that would be pretty hardy in case he forgets to water it lol. What would you all suggest?

My favorites to recommend for people who forget to water are snake plants, zz plants, and zebra haworthia. Rubber trees like to dry out before watering too, but they can’t go quite as long as those others

I also agree with snake plant or the zebra haworthia! I have both and rarely have to water them.

Thimble mammillaria was my first ever plant, it's a tiny cactus that doesn't get bigger than your thumb (from what I've seen) and needs very minimal care. They're pretty common so finding one at a local greenhouse should be fairly easy. Good luck with the search, also tell him about this app if he forgets to water 😅

Snake plant or aloe vera. They are hard to kill lol

I’m pretty certain that aloe is almost unkillable. I’ve severely neglected mine in the past, and my mom is even worse about neglecting hers, and both of our aloe plants are absolutely thriving and having babies regularly.

Snake plant or pathos. Can’t over water Snake plants and tap water has to sit for 24 hours or use rain water. Pathos on the other hand can use tap water and if you forget to water it will go limp and once you water it, it perks right up. Also really easy to make more plants from pathos.

i water my snake plant with chlorinated tap water and have had no issues. letting the tap water stand also does pretty much nothing besides let it warm up.
