# My pride and joy is also my most temperamental plant. A Bougainvillea…

My pride and joy is also my most temperamental plant. A Bougainvillea I impulsively purchased at the grocery store one day, I knew nothing about it and what it needed. I credit it for inspiring me to become more educated and interested in getting plants to thrive.

It was fully blooming when I went on vacation in March last year, and despite having a housesitter looking after the plants, when I came back it was dried out and every bloom fell 😭 It hasn’t reached the same level of blooming since, but it’s slowly making a comeback, and I am hopeful I will start to see some blooms next month! 🌸

This is one of my wishlist plants but I’ve never seen one indoors and I have to say, I like your style.

Ever notice how peace Lillies are almost always in bloom in stores But the minute you bring them home, once that flower dies back, it’s almost impossible to get them to bloom again. I learned that these stores use a particular fertilizer that forces the plant into bloom. But when we get them home the plant is never the same because we aren’t using that same fertilizer.

Could be what happened here. So don’t blame yourself.

I have noticed that! Nice little trick they have there haha.

This one was only blooming a little when I bought it, I got it to the full bloom in the pic about 5 months later so I’m hopeful as spring comes around it will happen again ☺️

It’s called gibberilic acid, you can buy it on Amazon, dissolve it in water and spray it on your plants if you want to be on their level 🙃
