Hello, my christmas cactus is starting to bloom i believe!!!

Also, I’m not too sure if im over watering or not keeping up with this app but it looks like shes starting to turn a browny green and shrivel. Is this normal for it to do that while trying to bloom? :0

I think this is a Thanksgiving Cactus. It has pointier leaves. Congratulations on the blooms! They are difficult to get to bloom. At least mine is. It’s like a temperamental teen.

I was going to ask does the thanksgiving one or “fake Christmas cactus” look similar but doesn’t get flowers?

It does get flowers! Mine has pink flowers (the couple times I’ve seen them over the almost 10 years I’ve had it).

It’s a Thanksgiving cactus with sharp pointy ears. The Christmas cactus has less pointy ears. The Easter cactus has no ears and is shaped like a string of ovals. They get their names from their natural blooming period.
The plant looks dehydrated. It will use a lot of energy to produce blooms.

Thankyou for the information! I had no idea :00 i was wondering because of them blooming if they go into a dormant stage errr something im not sure :)

Blooming typically doesn’t make them dormant. Cooler weather and longer nights can make them dormant. They should start growing again in spring.
