I’ve had my eyeballs on Astrophytum as my next thing, which told the plant world I was coming for them.

On Saturday, I went to a local plant swap that Facebook mysteriously put on my calendar six months ago. Though 90% of it was little (overpriced) leaf clippings, I found a mother/daughter team with the stuff of dreams on their little table.

First, let me say all these were grown in a window. Second, the Astrophytum were grown by this duo from seed (my jaw dropped in front of the sellers). Third, I should have bought the peyote.

Fourth, I’m downplaying how excited I was about the Copiapoa and Haworthia truncata.

Fifth: I got all of these for $65!

They all look amazing! One of these days, I’d love to get into cacti myself. The sheer variety is immense.

Their personalities call to me ha. It’s bottomless, though.
