# So six months into my plant journey, I’ve decided I’m ready to take…

So six months into my plant journey, I’ve decided I’m ready to take The Next Step. Meet Fala and Psy, courtesy of Costco. They made it through shipping without even losing a petal! Thanks to another Planta member commenting on a post about orchids, I did some research and now know I have to repot them so their roots can get air and light. This is my mission for the weekend. I will post pictures of the results (even if I mess it up). All that aside, does anyone have any advice regarding misting orchids? I’ve heard both for and against. Where I live is typically very dry—although not right now, it’s hurricane season—so I tend to mist all my plants bed sunrise and at dusk. But I don’t know whether these guys will like it. Any advice will be much appreciated! 🙏🏼

Beautiful! And yay for learning and trying again!  
Don’t mist your orchids. It will only invite fungal issues. They will acclimate to whatever your humidity is, just like a human.

Thank you so much!! I’m glad I haven’t done that in the two days I’ve had them. 😅 Amazon delivered all the good stuff I need to repot them today, so tomorrow is The Big Day. On one hand I’m thinking, “I have six bonsai—how hard can orchids be?” And on the other hand I’m thinking, “OMG OMG OMG I’m so not ready…” 😂😂😂
