Something about the velvety leaves really draws me in! Sad to lose a leaf but what a beautiful gift 🥹

Is it normal for them to lose their leaves when a new one unfurls? Mine has one leaf currently with a new one coming in and the lady I got it from told me it kept dropping its leaf whenever a new one came in 😭

I think it’s common that it will lose the oldest leaf when a new one comes in. I actually have gotten two leaves pretty close together and just now losing the oldest.

I think Alocasias are so beautiful but I don’t think I’m ready to get any of my own. I’ll keep enjoying the ones posted though! 😍

It is definitely a commitment! I’ve got my humidifier going 24/7 and my plants grouped together as well as a pebble tray to keep it humid enough. So far it’s been very successful!

Alocasias sure have a high leaf turnover 😂 But you might also want to consider the light, pot size and nutrients.

I have definitely gotten several new leaves since purchasing her. I haven’t had her for a year yet but the local plant shop told me to wait a year to repot. I’ve gotten 2 corms and they’re growing!
