i always am drawn to the weird looking plants haha! aw man i’m sorry you’re having a hard time finding them! they aren’t very common honestly. i got him a year ago and haven’t seen it since. you could ask your local nursery if they’re able to get them in! my work can do special orders, i wonder if yours would be able to.

I had one yearrrsss ago at the beginning of my plant journey, and I think it came from like…home depot or something…but I couldn’t tell ya what happened to it. I probably overwatered it. I’m on the hunt!!

ahh i hope you can find it again (: itll be exciting see it again! i feel like overwatering is the killer of most plants. its okay though, live and learn! (: mine went through a lot in its lifetime figuring out what it likes and now its been blooming for months. just bright sunlight and a drought, then a good soak when it needs water again. if you found it on my profile you can slide through its lifetime. it’s called tootsie and it’s in the basement site.

Got recommendations on how you grow them?

#### molly ha risposto il 2024-11-27

yes i could talk about them all day haha.
for potting it, they enjoy a shallow pot. with the bottom layer being a chunky and sandy succulent soil mixture, where the roots and some of the plant will sit. the rest can be a rocky succulent mixture. i used sol soils, i recommend their soil over anything. they like this because they don’t like sitting in wet soil and this gives a nice airy layer.
for watering, they are extremely drought tolerant. i only water when i notice the side of the lithops getting a little wrinkly and the plant starts feeling squishy. if the plant is nice and firm, it doesn’t need water, even if the soil is dry. sometimes the plant can be squishy from overwatering, so making sure the soil dries out is ideal.
they love love love sunlight. the brighter the light the better! and they are sensitive to freezing, given they’re such a plump plant. you don’t want to freeze its insides.
they also can bloom from the center of each little lithops. the new growth also comes from the center. online you may see people peel off the outer leaves as it’s growing it’s new ones. i do not recommend this at all. the plant will shrivel the outer leaves naturally. just let it do its thing. i’ll attach a picture of this happening on my older lithops plant.
it’s honestly such an easy plant, just gotta ignore it (:
