# Hi Everyone, First time poster here! I got this plant about a year…

Hi Everyone,

First time poster here!  
I got this plant about a year ago or so. It had been doing well and now is getting some markings on it and the leaves are different colors.

Truth be told I don’t know what kind of plant it is to look up what to do. This app thinks it’s either a Striped Dracaena or a Corn Plant ‘Dorado’.

Any advice/guidance would be appreciated!!

I think dracaena dorado is a good match for it, I’m not sure what’s causing the damage though.

Are the brown spots crispy or soft? Crispy brown spots are sun damage and soft brown spots are root rot

There’s no brown spots yet. There’s mainly brown at the edges of the leaves. Only on one leaf is there a few very light brown spots.

After getting the name from above I repotted and let the plant/roots air for a bit before repotting
