It could be a few things but over watering is my first guess. Calatheas also are pretty picky about everything. It could be the quality of the water. They do not like a lot of minerals and sodium so you might try distilled. Self watering pot is probably not a great idea for these guys especially a beginner 😉 I would recommend finding her a terra cotta pot with good drainage.  
Start with getting her out of the pot and checking her roots to see if that’s the problem. If they are black and mushy remove them and repot her in a snuff pot. Godspeed! 💚💚

My prayer plan wanted to die at first, but the good news is once it took root It was a really easy plant.

It looks like your pot might be too deep. Maybe you can find a pot that’s half the size until it gets bigger.

Once I learned from the community here to use a chunky soil mixture, my plants stopped dying, so I think that’s really important.

You can prevent overwatering by using a moisture indicator stick from Amazon, which I use on all my plants and you can see one in this photo.

If you put it under a grow light, it is so fun to watch it reaching for the light! It’s very dramatic.

Thanks. I just ordered all the stuff for chunky soil mix I will move her tomorrow once everything is delivered.
