# 10cm of growth since March! 📈 Unpotting my Anthurium clarinervium…

10cm of growth since March! 📈

Unpotting my Anthurium clarinervium today to transition it from LECA to a chunky soil mix and I am absolutely blown away by these roots!

It has put on 10cm of new growth in just a few short months. There is nothing more satisfying than a perfectly healthy, thick root system. Time for its upgrade! 🪴

Ooo why are you going from LECA to soil? I’m intrigued.

Soil offers better temperature insulation to protect sensitive roots during chilly winter months.

So do you switch off between the two based on time of year?

I like buying really young plants (a few centimetres big), in March and I find developing them in leca produces better roots over a 3/4 month period. It seems to work for me, but it's obviously dependent on each person's environment and place in the world.
