Dendrobium ‘Kyle Qunital’

This one has been in bloom for two years with no rest. It really started ramping up and pushing out flowers this month. Just covered in blooms. It’s lovely and I am happy it’s so happy but…

I have noticed they have an odor. Kinda like bug spray. I am reminded of the old Raid commercials every time I get a whiff of them. At least it doesn’t smell like rotted meat. So that’s a win?

Do you have sphagnum moss covering the roots? My moss is dying off but the plant is pushing up a new shoot. Thought it was on the way out. . Some leaf yellowing.. How often do you water?

I don’t like to use sphagnum on my dendrobiums. They are in a pumice and bark mix. It dries out quickly.

I water it roughly every 7 days (when the roots have dried out)

Thank you. Where do you get the pumice? Or does it come in one bag?

I don’t really recall but I am pretty sure you can find it on Amazon. I know Repotme.com has it but you’ll pay a little more. They have a nice dendrobium mix that I’ve used on several of my other dendrobiums with good results.

Oh so pretty the little neon butterflies. Dendrobiums are such a tough plant and I think I know that Raid scent your talking about 😆
