# Can someone help me please. My orchid not only bloomed beautiful…

_Posted by All About Plants on 2026-02-03_

Can someone help me please. My orchid not only bloomed beautiful purple flowers again for the first time, but another spike grew on the other side and is also blooming. The problem is that today the spike with the flowers broke in half and i’m not sure what to do with it. All of the flowers are still attached to the broken spike. What can i do with it? Will they die? I hope not 😒. Is it ok to put the broken spike in water for now until roots coms out or should I plant it in a pot? I think the flowers got to heavy for the long spoke. You can actually see on the third picture where it broke. This makes me sad, because I really took extra care to see it bloom again and now this. Please help. I thank you in advance.

I’m so sorry to hear about your flower spike. Your flowers are beautiful. Unfortunately I don’t think the flower spike will grow roots. I would put the flower spike in a vase with water and enjoy their beauty while you can.

The plant can’t be propagated by the spike, but you can put it in water and it’ll be beautiful in an arrangement for weeks 😃
The plant will sprout another spike next blooming season
