# Okay, I dived into the vanda pool. Mr Pi and I were out running…

Okay, I dived into the vanda pool. Mr Pi and I were out running weekend errands. Of course at the last store, there they were. Vandas. Not in great shape but too lovely to resist. Especially with a persuasive man whispering in met ear to get them.

The pink one is a Vanda Boonserm Beauty. The other is a no ID but gorgeous!

Now I’ve just got to finally a place to keep them. Wish me luck

Yup 🙀 Here’s a photo of one, just hanging out on a curtain rod. Impulse buying at its worst.

They came in little 3” plastic baskets w/o media which I think is pretty typical. I’m planning on getting some wood baskets (maybe 6”?) and either lava rock or leca for media. I hope the change is not too much a shock for them but in just don’t have the capacity or setup for daily watering.

Hopefully while I’m out picking up materials, I can resist buying the red one I left all by its lonesome. But then again three would give me one more option for success (or spectacular failure)

What am I thinking?!??

It’s like you’ve written a play by play of what goes through my head while shopping some days. 😂 You are very brave… I’m so nervous about bare roots. You know enough about what you’re getting into, now it’s up to your environment and the plants themselves to tell you if they’re gonna be a good fit. I’ll be super excited to get updates. You got this!

Thanks.!I figure avoiding Vandas for several decades is ridiculous.

Oh and I decided all things are better in threes. Absolutely no self control 🤦
