Rootless Paph Maudiae is finally starting to growth a new root. The root is coming in above the lowest leaf. I don’t if that’s normal or not but I’m glad the plant is slowly recovering from root rot. Still keeping it in slightly damp moss with a touch of rooting hormone.

It is normal and a good sign.

Thank you. Will that leaf eventually yellow and fall off? I need to keep the root moist but can’t let water collect at the base of the leaf. Will another root grow at the base of the other leaf?

Yes to both. It will take time but if it does not rot a root will grow back.
