What plant do you have

#### Kathy C replied on 2025-09-19

That is it. It was hanging from her main plant like a spider plant. It does have roots starting. She said that you can lay it on the ground and it will root.

It’s a bromeliad plant

To care for a bromeliad, provide bright, indirect light, a porous, well-draining soil mix, and moderate to high humidity. Water by filling the central "tank" with water and by watering the soil when the top layer is dry, but avoid overwatering to prevent root rot. Maintain temperatures between 60-85°F and fertilize with a diluted solution once a month during the growing season.

Does a bromeliad send off runners like a spider plant?

Looks like a bromeliad

callisia fragrans aka basket plant would be my guess. for future reference we have a plant identification group for posts like this :-)

Callisia Fragrans, aka Basket Plant, as Plant Father stated. I have the all green variety. It acts like a spider plant. 🪴🍀

Thanks that is what Planta says, however, I cannot find one that is variegated.
