However I’m not sure what type of orchid that is so I could be wrong

It's a phal, I agree they look like roots but the placement got me hopeful \</3

They’re roots. My purple orchid tricked me into thinking it was sprouting 3 new spikes🙃 spikes aren’t as cone shaped and eventually show some sheathing
