I’m wondering if I need to do more for my orchid. I trimmed her down right above a node after all her blooms fell off. She has a new leaf but I’m concerned because the stalk doesn’t seem to be growing. Any tips here?

Just leave it it’s fine

To be clear, that long stick is the guide, not the stem of the orchid.

The stem won’t grow back

So then I just dwarfed my orchid?

Um that stem won’t continue to grow but new stems will appear

Brighter light is helpful

Orchids do not flower 100% of the time. Its natural for the spike to drop it’s flowers, and then die back. Cutting it off does not hurt your plant. It will grow a new flower spike when it’s ready.
The new leaf growth is a sign it’s totally healthy and putting its energy into other areas at the moment.
As to how long till a new spike grows….this can vary greatly. As long as your plant is healthy it’s just a waiting game to some extent.
Light and temp will make a difference, but these are quite hardy plants and can be okay in a range of conditions.
