# What’s wrong with my new orchid? I got this gorgeous orchid…

What’s wrong with my new orchid?

I got this gorgeous orchid yesterday. It was in a wrapper when I chose it so I couldn’t inspect it properly. What I could see looked healthy though and it appears to have a very healthy and abundant root system with no sign of root rot.

On close inspection at home, I found this on one of the lowest leaves.

Is it a disease? Sun burn perhaps?

Any ideas on if or what I should do here?

Also the other bottom leaf has been damaged. Should I trim, remove or leave it alone?

I think it’s just natural damage. If the spot doesn’t get worse and more don’t appear I think you should be good. Your plant looks very healthy too :)

I agree with her. I leave the leaves until they practically fall off themselves. Even if damaged. Still gives plant energy.
