# First time posting here as I need some help to understand what is…

First time posting here as I need some help to understand what is happing to my orchid. It started with chalky blotches on leaves and now yellowing and brown spots. Any idea on how I can restore it to health?

I’m not super well versed in orchid diseases, but I have found a lot of good info at staug orchid society dot org (go to culture/pests-diseases)

Without seeing the progression in person, I would guess that it’s a fungus and/or bacterial infection. There’s also a whole section on that page that can help you determine if it’s something potentially caused by mites. Here’s a screenshot, but worth a look at their virus, bacterial, and fungal sections as well.

Yeah, I agree with Jen. I’m kinda leaning towards fungus. Regardless, quarantine that plant if you haven’t already. You don’t want that spreading to other plants. Good luck
