# Is this possibly a flower spike? Mini moth orchid, only had since…

Is this possibly a flower spike? Mini moth orchid, only had since July. First blooms fell off a week after it was gifted to me and it's put out a few new leaves since then. Pretty sure one of those nodes are a new root (coming in under a leaf) but the one on the left coming in above the leaf looks like a spike? Took this right after watering and a mist. She was due for both

100% a root, it's happened to mine before.

I think flower spike. They usually come between the leaves

Flower spikes have nodes and this growth doesn't, also the tip is shaped the same as roots

It is in fact a root! This does make me happy though that she's putting on so many new leaves and roots. First orchid I've ever actually owned. Thanks for the insight everyone!

I think before we have any talk of spikes I would HIGHLY recommend a repot. Check MissOrchidGirl she’s my favorite!
