These are all of my orchids at the moment (minus my two jewels) my partner says we’re done for the year. (I just got into orchids this year lol)

This is my Tolumnia, it didn’t come with anything for soil so I’ve just been watering the roots frequently. I’m trying to decide between moss or moss and bark 🤔

It’s lovely!

Mine came the same way. I’ve got them in net pots with bark. My reasoning is they’ll have moisture without drowning

Yeah I’ve been having a lot of trouble with repotting I know you’re supposed to ease into it and everything but my orchids are so thirsty but we’re super humid because we’re by a lake so I don’t want to drown them so I put bark (and cuz that’s what everyone says) but the bark dries out too fast.. so temperamental these beautiful plants

I am a big believer in bark but a bigger believer in finding a mix that works for you. If you are having issues with them drying out too fast, could try cutting in some sphagnum next time you repot. I personally wouldn’t go above 50%. I wouldn’t pack it in, but keep it light and airy.

In the interim, you might top dress with sphagnum.

It’s not that orchids are fussy, but they do like things just so.

wow your orchids are so pretty!! they look really healthy too- i have never been able to keep orchids alive! yours seem just thriving though, thats awesome!
