Help, I never have any luck with orchids. They all get super wilty and sometimes turn yellow. I’ve repotted, cleaned up the roots, no success. I water about every 10 days. I fertilize every other time or so. They’re in a fairly bright spot (no direct sun).

The leaves look dehydrated, but I think it looks damp in the bottom of the pot. Couple things, based solely on this photo- orchid roots like to dry out between waterings, or you’re at risk of rotting the roots. That’s why lots of people prefer clear plastic pots with slits or holes for ventilation. Maybe the roots are just sitting in moisture and have rotted?

I would say you’re probably watering too often. I water mine maybe once a month. Orchids really like to dry out between waterings. You can also try taking it out of the soil and growing it hydro in a vase. Just put a couple inches of water in the bottom of the vase with hydro nutrients so just the bottoms of the roots are submerged. Houseplusplant on instagram uses this method and says it works really well with orchids. Good luck!

This needs a soak for 20 mins and then more regular watering. It’s severely dehydrated. Try growing them in semi hydro if you’re struggling.

I would also recommend not to pack so much medium in the pot! That’s something I learned the hard way.

Plus I don’t see any holes for air
