Do you guys mist your orchid leaves? Planta always says to but I’ve heard not to. Just wondering what everyone’s thoughts.

I don’t mist. They seem to be doing fine without it.

I don’t mist leaves as with phaleanopsis is easy to get crown rot but got humidifier instead and give them a shower once a while just to get rid of dust and to prevent bug infestation

I have been wondering the same thing with the Planta app. I have a fine mist sprayer and barely mist them to make sure no water gets in the crown, but it makes me nervous to do it. So I might not mist them often. I haven’t misted them before and mine have always done great. Also I keep mine on the kitchen window ledge above my sink so I think they get a good amount of humidity from my regular kitchen activities.

The risk of crown and stem rot are too great for me to chance misting my orchids. It’s not necessary, so why chance losing the plants for no reason. 😬
