Question!! 🌼🌼

So, I just bought some hydrangeas that are lime colored. I would like to change the color of them possibly to purple I have heard you can do that. How does one go about doing that? And any extra tips for healthy hydrangeas?

The color of hydrangea flowers can be changed by adjusting the pH of the soil. Hydrangeas in neutral soil (pH 6–7) can produce purple or bluish-pink blooms, while acidic soil (pH below 6) can produce blue or lavender-blue flowers. Alkaline soil (pH above 7) can produce pink or red flowers.

Here are some ways to adjust the pH of your hydrangea's soil:
Add aluminum sulfate or garden sulfur
Mix one tablespoon of aluminum sulfate or garden sulfur with one gallon of water and apply it to the soil as a drench using a watering can. This can over-acidify the plant, so avoid applying dry aluminum sulfate or sulfur, which can stunt or kill the plant.
Add lime
Dissolve one tablespoon of hydrated lime in a gallon of water and drench the soil around the plant every two weeks in March, April, and May. Avoid getting the mixture on the leaves, as it can cause leaf burn.
It can take weeks, months, or even years for the soil pH to adjust, so you'll need to be patient. Not all hydrangea varieties are equally sensitive to pH levels, so some may retain their color even in different soil conditions. For example, 'Ami Pasquier' hydrangeas usually stay crimson unless the soil is very acidic, while 'Purple Tiers' hydrangeas typically remain purple.

The major hardware stores like Lowes or Home Depot sell a bag of color changing granule’s for what color you want in pink or blue. If you mix them maybe you can get purple??
