Hey plants friends .. Any advice on propagation from a birds of paradise stem cutting??

My bird of paradise last sprout is huge and it bent over before the leaf could even reveal itself so I was thinking can I jus cut the stem and start a new plant ?

I’m pretty sure you can’t propagate a bird of paradise stem.

Okay 🤷🏻‍♀️ so should I jus cut the stem with the leaf off completely ? Will it damage my plant? Will it continue grow ?

I’d leave the setup you have for now. Maybe see how the new leaf grows. If it is damaged on the stem from bending, it will die off eventually and you will have to cut the stem closer to the leaf as you don’t want to cut too low as a new leaf will sprout out of the cut stem. Sorry I hope that explains. Let me know if any other questions.

I’m assuming the damage is right above the red line? Worse case cut just below the red line and you will get new growth as I drew in green.  
(Only cutting the new damaged leaf, I drew the red line too long.)

I just went nuts on my bird of paradise. It was over 14ft tall and maybe 20ft wide. Leaves started drooping. It was starting to stress me so it was the garbage or just chop it. This is what I did. Still 7ft tall. I’m not sure what will come from it. But it still put out a new leaf…

No! don’t do what I did. I was at my wits end with this. It was too big.
