# Succulent leaf propagation update! I took some advice from people…

Succulent leaf propagation update! I took some advice from people here when I planted the babies. The ones with small enough mother leaves (sedum and burrows tail), I left attached and planted them together with the original plant for now. The echeveria leaves were really large so I cut them to about a half inch and covered them with soil when I planted.

Oh! I had heard not to cover with soil but lay on top of- does it matter?

They will die when buried but if you are planning to remove the leaf before it dies naturally then burying it allows the baby plant to suck up more nutrients from it before it dies. She cut it in half to make more room.
