Monstera prop is pushing its first new leaf.

I don't know if its a coincidence but I've been using a fan that has gently blown on her...which I've heard can send signal to plant to strengthen/grow. Could be completely unrelated, but it's interesting timing as the roots have been strong for some time without producing a new leaf.

monsteras will often focus on establishing a strong root system before even beginning to put out more leaves, which often takes up to four months. after that they return to growing. the fan could be helping for sure, though. also, i'd reduce the water level slightly, as having petioles (leaf stems) submerged can cause stem rot.

Good info! I think I'm gonna plant her up after that leaf emerges.
