# I recently made a cross-country move in the middle of the southern…

I recently made a cross-country move in the middle of the southern ice storm and most of my plants were severely damaged in the process. I’m trying to rehab and save what I can.
My money tree lost all of its leaves in the move and now looks like this. I am seeing new buds at the trunk, should I trim off some of the growth above the buds? If so, where should I snip? I don’t see any new buds at the top

Not an expert at this one but usually they don’t bud from any brown (ligmentation, I think it’s called), but since I can’t see exactly where it would be green if healthy, maybe hold off on pruning until more develops to sustain it.

You can wait to trim it until it's more obvious what's alive and what's not; it can be hard to tell with woody plants that have lost leaves. Testing it would require scraping bark away, which you should avoid doing in this case since it's already stressed
